Technical Mumbo Jumbo
Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Blogger, the service I use to update my blog, is undergoing some changes. On May 1, FTP uploading will no longer be available (which is how I upload changes to my site). What this means is that I am going to have to migrate my current blog, hosted on my server space, to a new home on Google's servers.

This may impact you primarily if you have my blog directly bookmarked. (http://davidschuster.net/blog). If you have bookmarked any other page on my website, you should not be affected. This may also temporarily cause E-Mail updates and automatic Facebook updates from functioning properly. I will fix that as soon as possible if there is a problem.

I will be attempting to migrate the blog to it's new home within the next few days.

Stay tuned for more updates on new projects in the coming weeks.

A New Year
Friday, January 22, 2010

It has been over a month since I've posted a new image so I thought it was time. I haven't had much time to work on any big projects lately, but I spent the evening tinkering around in Photoshop and came up with a fun image to show you all.

It's quite clearly an image of myself. I've wanted to create a new picture to use as an avatar for things like Facebook, Steam, Google, Skype, etc. My other one is almost 2 years old. I had planned to do it a lot differently, but it wasn't turning out the way I wanted it to, so that was scraped, and this was born:

Interact with Dave
Monday, December 21, 2009

I have updated the contact page on my website, but instead of calling it 'contact', it is called 'interact'. This is to reflect all of the different methods you can interact with me/this site. Facebook, subscribing to E-Mail updates, and of course good old fashioned, dependable E-Mail. Take a look at the new 'Interact' page.

Stay tuned for another update coming soon to the site later this week.

New E-Mail Address
Monday, December 07, 2009

For all things photography related, you may contact me at photography@davidschuster.net. That is for any comments, complaints, or suggestions. Or if you would like to work with me on a project. If you do hair/makeup, wardrobe, or would like to model or help out in any other way, send me an E-Mail mentioning that you would love to help out!

Become a Fan!
Friday, December 04, 2009

A few months ago I created a Facebook page for my photography, and tonight, it has gone live! I have been holding off publishing it while I got some other projects together, but it hasn't really worked out that way. I have a lot of exciting things lined up, but life happens, so my photography has taken a back seat. It's unfortunate, but that's what needs to happen sometimes. Anyway, if you like my photography, feel free to become a fan on Facebook!

Also, with the launch of the page, I am posting a new image I created. It may not look like much, but it took a whole day to create (back in July/August sometime). The Photoshop file is over 2 Gigs. I created it as a sort of logo for my Facebook page, but I'm not entirely satisfied with how it looks on Facebook. Nevertheless, I will leave it there for a little while.

My First Published Photo
Monday, November 09, 2009

I have recently had my very first photo published in an internationally distributed magazine. It's a trade magazine called Professional Lighting and Production. It is coverage of the CITT Rendez-vous conference held this August in Edmonton. You can view the coverage on page 12 at http://www.professional-lighting.com/online/pageflip.htm. (You can click on the page to zoom in if you're having a hard time.) Also, take note of the photo credit.

Note: As this is a periodical, the link may update to a new issue when it is released, and you may not be able to view the article anymore.
